About Riverside Cemetery

Riverside Cemetery is located on the south side of the Pine River, directly adjacent to Pine River Park.

The Cemetery Office address is 800 Washington St., Alma, MI 48801.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cemetery lots can be purchased at the Alma Municipal Building.

The cemetery allows the ground interment of ashes and full burial interment. The chapel is available upon request. Graveside services are permitted year round; however, weather and ground conditions may require the use of the chapel.

Worked with us throughout the entire process and had a great attitude through it all. Thank you Shelley! You were so helpful to me in getting a headstone. It was a unique request for my great uncle who died as a baby with the influenza epidemic of 1918, he never got a marker. You helped me through all the decisions, some I had no clue like the lettering and shiny or mat finish.I can’t wait to see the finished product when it’s delivered. Thanks again Shelley!

Besides human gravestones and cemetary markers, this company also offers pet memorial stones, like the kind you'd put in a garden and/or next to a backyard burial site. What makes Black Monument Company stand out is that they actually do the etching of the words right there in-house vs. a couple other places I called in town (pet cemetaries like Noah's) where they have to send away for custom stones, which takes days or weeks and costs more money. I was very happy with Black Monument Co - the pet grave marker they designed is a perfect sweet way to honor the memory of my dear departed furry friend.
